BBQ Sauce

This easy homemade BBQ sauce recipe has a sweet and tangy flavour and goes great with so many meals, optional to add in a dash of whiskey for an extra kick! This recipe is vegan and gluten free.

Ingredients

140g tomato ketchup

140g tomato puree

50ml apple cider vinegar

3 tbsp brown sugar

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (GF)

1 tsp Tabasco sauce

pinch of salt and pepper

1 tsp minced garlic

1 tsp paprika

2 tbsp whiskey (optional)

Start by combining all the indgredients into a saucepan and bring to a simmer over a low heat stirring occasionally.

If adding Whiskey, add this in to the pan too, I used honey Jack Daniels (which isn’t vegan) but we had some left in the house, however bourbon whiskey work great too!

After a few minutes on the heat, the sugar should have dissolved so remove from the heat and leave to cool before decanting.

Store in the refrigerator up to 6 months.
